Mr. Walker was admitted on the 13th. instant with a history of having been unwell for 10 days or so Fever started 3 days ago.
The fever was of the continuous type ranging between 102° and 104 The pulse early became intermittent which in view of his previous history made the case serious from the beginning. The Widal reaction was positive on the 16th. instant and from this on- -wards the case was grave and caused much anxiety. For the first ten days patient was quite conscious but after this was semi- -delirious at times though he knew those around him and took all his nourishment. The fever kept between 101° and 103° the last week but the heart's action was very weak throughout. On the 26th. the delirium increased and he slowly became unconscious and died on the 27th. at 9.30 p.m. passing quietly away.
